Does anyone know the specs of the Ping JZ Cushin shafts in reg flex?
Weight? Bend point? Etc.

What is the closest match in Dynamic Gold or something else?

Thanks,
jim

The Ping web sites have or had the shaft specs. I tried to find the
equivalent TT shafts a few years ago and some of the light weight shafts
come pretty close to matching up. The problem is that Ping might be tip
trimming differently to "make" their own shafts.

Speaking of tip trimming, watch out since at least some Ping irons use
tapered tips.

ahh..... there's the rub !

JZ is a taper tip , 125-135gm shaft with mid bend point and Ping fit it with
an approximate 4-5cpm slope.
I like the flex just not the flight (balloons a bit on short irons).

TT DG r/s taper is a 125-135gm shaft with a high bend point and gives
anywhere from 5-9cpm per 1/2" slope.
I like the flight but the short irons are too stiff in s300 and the long
irons are too flexible in r300 :-( Plus TT's
quality control is poor ( from my experience of small samples) - where 2
supposedley identical shafts can have
5cpm frequency differences and balance points 1/2" different too !

So.. I want a "firm" 125gm constant(ish) weight shaft set with a 4cpm slope
that doesn't balloon the short irons
- anyone got a suggestion ? I know I could get what I want with TT DG
Parallel tips - I just don't want to bore out
my i3's .I'm thinking of Rifle TFR 5.0.

Having thought about how much simpler it would make things, I think I might
take your advice :-D

I use to think I could "feel" the difference with the DG constant weight -
but I've been getting as good (if
not better ) feel / feedback from a set of parralel's. I don't plan on
selling my i3blades anytime soon and
seeing as I reshafted them myself I don't have a warranty to worry about ;-)

Yes. They can also tip trim "soft" on special order. The irons are matched one
over from their "normal" shaft tip trim. IE: 5 iron head w/4 iron shaft tip
trim. On a side by side comparison with the same head there is a definite
difference between the Ping JZ cushin and the TT Dynamic Gold R300.
